What is the Dartboard Rally? In the effort to bring a rally closer to everyone, we decided that we will occasionally just throw a dart at a map and wherever it lands, go host a rally there. Nothing extravagant. Simple bonuses, no complex scoring themes. The Dartboard Rally was created as a fun, low-pressure introduction to the world of motorcycle rallying. Whether you're a first-time rally rider or a seasoned veteran looking for a relaxed day in the saddle, the Dartboard Rally is designed for riders who want to experience the fun of motorcycle rallying without the complexity of a multi-day themed event.

Riders will receive a rally pack containing bonus locations and scoring information. Riders will find a list of 'mandatory' stops. Ride to all the stops and back to the finish in time, you are a finisher. For those with a little more competitive spirit, there will be additional bonuses available to acquire extra points and seek a podium finish.
The rally is intended to be approachable and affordable. Expect a day of riding, limited route planning, sightseeing, and friendly competition. New riders will have an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of rally strategy, while experienced riders can test their skills against fellow competitors. There will not be any tricks, "a-ha" moments, or overly complicated scoring themes.

Most importantly, the Dartboard Rally is about having fun. You'll discover new places, challenge yourself, meet fellow riders, and return with stories to tell. Whether your goal is to stand on the podium or simply finish your first rally, the Dartboard Rally offers an enjoyable and rewarding experience for riders of all backgrounds.
HOW IT WILL WORK
A few days prior to the event, riders will be emailed a rally pack with bonuses. The first bonuses listed will be mandatory bonuses. You simply ride to each one, take a picture, and return to the finish within the 12 hour timeframe and you're a finisher. There will be other bonuses available for extra points if you want to compete against your fellow riders but you will still have to hit the mandatory bonuses.
You will be given instructions on how to procure a rally flag.
We will use the Iron Butt Scoring app for bonus submission purposes. There will not be any complicated rest/meal/audio bonuses. Just simple 'choose bonus code - send picture' that anyone should be able to work with. Riders will be given an access code when the books come out. There will be a tutorial on the Iron Butt Rally YouTube channel as we get closer to the event.
Riders must wear a DOT-approved (or better) helmet at all times they sitting on the motorcycle, stationary or moving. Riders will be required to have a current, valid driver's license with motorcycle endorsement. Rider must have a current proof of liability insurance policy for the motorcycle they are riding. The registration for the motorcycle must be current. Auxiliary fuel is allowed but total motorcycle fuel capacity should not exceed 11.5 gallons. Sponsorships are not prohibited but the rallymaster reserves the right to request you remove excessive sponsorship advertisement. The rallymaster will determine what is excessive.
The Dartboard Rally is governed by the Uniform Rally Rules except where specifically modified by the Dartboard Rally rules and requirements described on this page.
What does my $85 cover if I have to pay for my own room and dinner?
If you have been wondering why there seems to be less and less rally options out there, it is because insurance has become very difficult to find on an affordable level. Your $85 will mostly go to insurance and some of the essential logistical costs to making the rally possible.
Doesn't this conflict with the Big-As-Texas Party the following weekend?
Yes and no. We are the weekend prior but you'll have plenty of time to get to Allen, TX before the festivities begin.
Your rally fee will NOT include a t-shirt BUT we will make a t-shirt available for purchase when you sign up on Ridemaster. A shirt purchase is not mandatory.
